For my first painting back in the New Year I wanted to do something which reminded me of the warmer times which are coming and so I’ve done an abstract wildflower meadow.
I’ve also let go of my usual detail and gone heavy with the texture (it will probably take a few days to dry out properly! 🤣)
This was really good fun as it was pure creative abandonment with no boundaries, no idea of exactly how it was going to come out… just releasing my creativity and seeing what happens.
Sometimes it is ok and beneficial to have structure… to have a map that takes us step-by-step and we know exactly what the end result should look like.
Sometimes it is ok to trust in yourself, get into and go with the flow and trust that the outcome will be what it is meant to be.
We spend an awful lot of our lives trying to control and influence outcomes, especially if they are heading in a direction we don’t want… when perhaps what we should be doing is trusting that the outcome is EXACTLY what it is meant to be.
For example, staying in a failing relationship longer than you should be is both pointless and destructive, yet how many of us have found ourselves in exactly that position? Or staying in a job – whether employed or running your own business – well past the days of waking up and being reluctant or even dreading going into the office.
Our instincts, our intuition knows when a situation is not right for us any longer well before we catch up consciously. We feel it is wrong way before we take the action to leave, which becomes inevitable.
Yet when we learn to ‘listen’ to our intuition – to be more heart-led and go with our feelings – we may well find ourselves with the same outcome, but with less stress, less anguish, less anxiety, less everything, really.
We can’t force someone to love us in the way we want them to, as no one can force us to love them in the way they want.
We can’t force a boss to change our job role because we are unhappy, and those of us who are self-employed can’t force customers and clients to buy from us.
We can learn to listen and act on our intuition which, in my experience, always leads to outcomes, which, when you look back, are always the right outcomes for you, even if you visualised or expected something different.
With love xx
