All-Weather Golfer

All-Weather Golfer

2nd December 2021

This week I decided to try my hand at something different.

If you’ve been following my journey you will know that I’ve been learning different techniques with paints and brushwork, as well as using photos and images as references.

This week was about taking what I know and applying them in a more creative way, mixing suggestion with detail…

… Say hello to the All-Weather Golfer!

As I’ve said in previous posts it’s not always about doing something new or something different.

One of my favourite business growth strategists, Chet Holmes, says in his book The Ultimate Sales Machine (well worth studying if you have a business) that getting better results isn’t about doing 4000 different things, but doing a handful of things 4000 times.

It’s all about continuously making tiny, tiny changes which, over time, has a Compound Effect (another awesome book by Darren Hardy).

This is how I’m creating my ‘style’ of painting… And this is how we create a business machine that gives us consistent and predictable results.

And actually, this is how we create a consistent and predictable life.

Everything we go through – highs and lows – give us lessons to learn from, gives us experience, so we can make changes to improve our outcomes the next time we are faced with a similar situation.

An old quote that has come up at least 4 different times this week is

“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”

Whatever your belief system about Life, The Universe and Everything (my third book recommendation for today… by Douglas Adams!) we will keep experiencing the same things happening to us UNTIL we make the changes, however small, to influence the outcome. If we do nothing about it, we will keep getting the same outcomes.

So… what is your All-Weather Golfer moment?

My invitation to you is to look at things that have been showing up consistently in your life which aren’t serving you, and reflective journal on the things that you could do differently next time it comes up for you.

We all change and adapt to everything around us anyway, but it’s way more fun to be in control of what we change and do it with intention.

Raising For Charity

In August 2020, my best friend was diagnosed as having Myeloma, a cancer that affects the bone marrow.

While there is a lot of awareness and publicity over other forms of cancer, there is not so much known about this one.

There are various treatments currently offered, but as yet, there is no cure.

Any money raised from the sale of my paintings or donated using the button below will be given to Myeloma UK towards funding research to find a cure.

Current Target: £1,500

Amount raised to date:

(and to those of you who have purchased one of my paintings or made a donation, a very special thank you!)
