Red Squirrel

This weeks painting is a Red Squirrel.

This is now becoming a process for me… Paint something, reflect on it and then post about it. Processes make things easier.

Sometimes my posts are about different techniques. Sometimes my posts are about using the same techniques with a different subject. Every post is about progression and getting better.

Sometimes in life, we don’t know where we’re going. Often we have to trust in our intuition, trust in our circumstances and trust that things will work out as they’re meant to.

Sometimes this means repeating mundane stuff. Stuff that doesn’t inspire us. Stuff that doesn’t motivate us, but is necessary. Process stuff.

I’ll be honest and say that sometimes painting feels like that. It hasn’t all been plain sailing, and there have been a few paintings where the finished result has been a little disappointing. But I forced myself through it. I forced myself to go through the motions and create SOMETHING.

The beauty of this is that the outcome has always been something positive.

As at the time of writing this I have no idea what I’m going to paint this week, so it will be as much of a surprise to me as it will to you when I post next Thursday 🤔🤣

That said, I know that it will be exciting, I know that I will paint something, and I trust that the outcome will be positive.

With love xx
