The inspiration for this week’s painting was looking at the style of Monet, Georgia O’Keffe and Van Gogh and their take on painting flowers.
I’ve found that as I’ve progressed along my painting journey, I’m combining some more impressionist style with a certain amount of detail.
What I loved about this painting is the looseness and vibrancy of the flowers against an abstract background created by using the edge of a sponge.
Combining what we already know when we try new things can create incredible results and is how we develop our own perspective and methodology for how we deal with things.
Tapping into my creativity over the past six months has reminded me that we are a unique blend of all of the values, the beliefs and the experiences that we have had, and that which creates our particular view on the world.
Part of this journey has been about discovering who I am when I strip away everything that my parents told me I should be, or society told me I should be so that I “fit in”.
We each have incredible potential to be unique, to express ourselves fully and have an amazing impact on the world in our own way.
For me, every conversation, however big or small, where there is the possibility I might say one thing that might give someone an insight or an idea where they look at life from a different perspective, is me having an impact on the world, one person at a time.
How are you tapping into your creativity and uniqueness to make a difference to the people you connect with?

With love xx
