Not hard to see the like this if you look carefully 😉
This is one of my go it alone paintings, where I decided to paint a different animal.
I might well have reverted to my preferred style of dry painting layers, but this approach is different – an improvement – from paintings where I have used a similar technique before.
This time it is very much about tones.
Micro editions of black and white to give subtle changes in tone to the Grays to create shadow and light spots.
It’s not always about doing something completely different in life either.
Quite often it is the micro changes that make the biggest differences, you just don’t necessarily see the difference until you step back and look at the completed picture.
Change IS inevitable, it’s happening all of the time, but it isn’t necessarily about big, dramatic changes!
Yes, these do happen in life – and some of my paintings have been big, dramatic and “in your face”, and I’ve learnt different things about myself from these approaches.
But where I have noticed the most significant changes throughout my life, they have all been from where I have made the micro changes, continuously improving myself, my life, my purpose, my goals… Everything about me.
If we look back 20 years, none of us are the same person we were then. Even our values and beliefs will have changed, even if those changed to a micro degree.
Go with the flow. Look at things you can change. Always aim to be better today than you were yesterday, and keep an open mind to opportunity.
And I believe all change – regardless of amount – is a good thing, because it shows growth and we are growing all the time.
What small change can you make today to move you forwards? What thing can you let go of today that will make your life a little better? Ask yourself these questions every day for the next month, let go of one little thing or change one little thing, and then at the end of the 30 days have a look back and see how your life has improved!
With love xx
